Admission criteria
CSU Admission PolicyBachelor of Stage and Screen (with specialisations)
UAC applications into the Bachelor Of Stage and Screen will be accepted on the basis of ATAR plus Criteria (ATAR + C). Early entry for all eligible applicants will continue to be offered. Utilising the ATAR + C code allows greater scope for early entry, and for applicants to present supplementary evidence as to their suitability for the course. This is regularly utilised when assessing students falling under the ATAR cutoff.
Applicants undertaking the Acting specialisation will continue to be required to submit an audition, either in person, via electronic recording or via Internet. This will be based upon the existing processes established for previous offerings of Acting within the school. It is recommended that course intake into the Acting specialisation be capped at 35 due to resources, staffing and facilities restrictions. Sufficient demand currently exists to allow for selection of students based on, but not exclusive to, assumed HSC level knowledge of drama and proficiency of presentation. See appendix "Acting 2013 Audition Booklet" for previous audition requirements.
Applicants undertaking the Design or Television specialisations are offered, via direct contact, the opportunity to participate in an information session and interview with staff. This allows the applicant to gain a greater understanding of the course offerings and structures, and allows staff to make admission recommendations on criteria in addition to an applicant's ATAR score. Applicants to these specialisations may also elect to base their entry selection entirely on ATAR score. It is recommended to cap course intake into these specialisations at 40 students per course due to resource, staffing and facilities restrictions.
All non - UAC applicants will be assessed utilising the same guidelines as UAC applicants. Credit for prior studies or professional practise will be assessed on a case by case basis.
