EEL423 Leadership and Management of OODE (4)

Abstract

The ubiquitous nature of networked and mobile technologies and the explosive growth in use of open, online and distance education (OODE) for learning and development means that many education and training organisations need to renew their vision, products (courses), business models and ways of understanding their clients (students, businesses/governments) and how best to meet their needs. This requires organisation leaders to strategise, and to implement and evaluate new approaches for leading change and  the integration of open, online and distance education (OODE) environments within their organisation.   This subject is designed to guide students through an exploration of the possibilities and imperatives in dealing with the management of OODE products and the related systems-wide planning requirements. Students will engage with the structural, human, political, and cultural issues underpinning effective leadership and management strategies at various levels of OODE integration.
