EEL512 Digital Learning Design (4)

Abstract

The effective use of open, online and distance education pedagogies and technologies in teaching and learning requires that lecturers and trainers design, create and/or develop appropriate organizational environments, resources and conditions. The process requires layers of concise planning, collaboration, decision making and action to enable the realisation of an effective learning space. In this subject students will explore the research, conceptual process and media rich tools that underpin the design of online mediated environments. Theories of constructivism and related design patterns are investigated for their influence on learning and teaching and their eventual impact on online educational environments. Students will design an educational module for an online learning space.
