EML514 Approaching TESOL Research (8)

Abstract

Approaching TESOL Research addresses the place of research in the TESOL field in order to develop students' research awareness and competency. In this subject, students will be introduced to a range of research literature, paradigms, and approaches. Students will interpret and critique current TESOL research in order to articulate their understandings of the subject content and concepts. Students will apply these understandings in the preparation of ethically sound research proposals related to a topic of interest in a TESOL context.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • be able to apply the principles of ethics in TESOL research; and,
  • be able to develop research proposals for TESOL contexts.
