Abstract

This subject is a guided reading subject in which students work with an appointed supervisor to develop critical and reflective approaches to their research. Students are expected to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the literature relevant to their research question, and exhibit competence in the use of appropriate research methodology together with advanced written and oral communication skills.

Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:
  • In consultation with a supervisor, students select an appropriate topic for research, develop a research question, and write a research essay of approximately 10-12,000 words discussing critically their research question - Students may alternatively present their research as two smaller pieces of work
