Abstract

This course builds on ISL463 and introduces new grammatical rules focused mainly on developing the different noun patterns and the declension of the present tense verb. The letter hamza will be discussed in detail. The course also covers passages of stories that help further develop the listening and speaking skills.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • Be able to understand common mistakes related to the letter hamza and correct them
  • Be able to comprehend all the rules related to declension of the present tense verb
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the five nouns in speaking and writing
  • Be able to hold a basic dialogue in Arabic with fluency

  • Expressing oneself in Arabic
  • The five different nouns
  • Declension of the present tense verb

  • Noun of instrument
  • Original verbs and enhanced verbs
  • Reading of selected passages
  • Listening to selected passages
