Abstract|
This subject deals with procedures and techniques involved with managing investigative activities, particularly having regard to the relevant legal and organisational framework including organisational mission statements and objectives. It will provide the student with a critical understanding of the legal responsibilities of managers, relationships with key stakeholders, case management models, cost effectiveness and resource allocation. |

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully handle management issues associated with concurrent complex investigations
- be able to think critically about important legal responsibilities of managers
- be able to think critically about the relationship between private or corporate sector investigations and law enforcement authorities and the courts
- be able to review and analyse management and planning principles
- be able to demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of principles of resource allocation, priority-setting and cost-effectiveness in the management role
- be able to review , analyse and implement case management systems and plans
- be able to maintain the direction of investigative effort within and in harmony with the law and organisational aims
- be able to review, analyse, negotiate and define objectives for investigators. |
