Abstract

In this subject, students complete one supervised occupational therapy workplace learning experience. The workplace learning experience will last for eight weeks. During the eight week period students are entiled to have four days off from placement. These four days must be negotiated with their supervisor and must include public holidays. Students will not be eligible for a rostered-day-off (RDO) or time-in-lieu (TIL). Over the course of eight weeks students will complete approximately 262.5 hours on placement. The workplace learning experience provides students with the opportunity to manage their own caseload and to practice and consolidate their assessment, intervention, and evaluation skills. Students will also develop and consolidate critical evaluation and reflective practice skills. This placement focuses on working with individuals who experience occupational dysfunction and/or may focus on planning or implementing an occupation-focused project.
