Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • Demonstrate competent use of an appropriate digital camera with manual control;
  • Apply key digital imaging procedures to digital photographs using image manipulation software;
  • Integrate fundamental compositional and lighting considerations into their photographic imagery;
  • Show an understanding of the principals of the primary photographic genres;
  • Demonstrate basic photographic literacy through critical analysis of meaning in imagery

  • Principal contemporary photographic genres;
  • Basic critical analysis of photographic imagery
