Abstract|
The theory and practice of adults conducting drama workshops with, and performing for, young people is considered in light of scripts, scenarios and/or selected educational themes. The artistic and educational uses of theatre for young people are developed through research, dramaturgical analysis, play-building and rehearsal. This subject culminates in a series of performances for schools throughout the Central West region. |

- be able to Identify and discuss the foundations of theatre for young people nationally and internationally
- be able to create drama workshops for young people
- be able to develop and perform an original production for regional primary and secondary school audiences

SyllabusThe subject will cover the following topics:
- Evaluate and analyse Drama and Theatre for Young People from a cultural and educational perspective
- Examine the professional field including key organisations and practitioners
- How to create and produce an age-appropriate drama workshop and performance for young people
