ULM505 Leadership Through Change (8)

Abstract

This subject builds on the knowledge, skills and understanding of leadership theory and practice developed in the GCULM course. This work-focussed subject aims to build capability in students to critically analyse organisational capability and dynamics to lead people through and embed sustainable change at CSU. 

Students will explore and apply contemporary theoretical and practical approaches to key business communication skills needed to lead change in the context of an uncertain and dynamic internal (CSU) and external university environment.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to establish professional networks and foster collaborative relationships to lead change efforts;
  • be able to apply contemporary approaches to communication to articulate strategic goals and objectives;
  • be able to generate a guiding vision to direct organisational change initiatives;
  • be able to diagnose and evaluate organisational change capability to develop sustainable change practice; and
  • be able to design an innovative learning portfolio that demonstrates that the leadership knowledge, skills and ideas gained from the GCULM course have been applied to effectively lead people through change.
