Abstract|
This interdisciplinary collaborative subject introduces students to techniques and issues specific to screen production in a location environment. Within this concept students will undertake projects, which involve single camera production from concept to final presentation through advanced instruction in the imaginative creation and practical production of creative works. Specific areas of practice include script analysis, working with actors, designers and television production teams, location production methodologies and discipline interaction. |

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to manage and execute the discipline specific skills required for an external location production;
- be able to demonstrate a competent understanding of the pre-production, production and when required post-production; processes;
- be able to interact and effectively communicate with your peers as part of the collaborative process;
- be able to analyse and interpret scripts using discipline specific skills learnt to date;
- be fully conversant with location Work Place Health and Safety and Risk Assessment;
- be able to develop and critically reflect on personal process;
- be able to synthesise practical execution with imaginative expression; and
- be able to creatively problem solve complex situations.

SyllabusThe subject will cover the following topics:
- Script analysis and interpretation for single camera production;
- Short and long form location production;
- Roles of the actor, designer and television operator on location;
- Work Place Health and Safety and Risk Assessment;
- Pre production, production and post production processes;
- Collaborative and interdisciplinary ensemble building; and
- Specific and targeted skills development within each discipline.
