The Bachelor of Horticulture produces graduates with knowledge and skills in the science, management, business and production components of the Horticulture supply chain. In particular, graduates will have the interdisciplinary knowledge necessary to address a range of contemporary problems facing the Horticulture industries. Graduates will also have the cognitive and technical skills required to apply an appropriate combination of these principles to solve real problems and will have the written and oral communication skills to communicate with a range of audiences, using a range of strategies.

Normal course duration
Bachelor of Horticulture
Full-time 3 years (6.0 sessions)
Part-time 6.0 years (12.0 sessions)
Normal course duration is the effective period of time taken to complete a course when studied Full-time (Full-time Equivalent: FTE). Students are advised to consult the Enrolment Pattern for the actual length of study. Not all courses are offered in Full-time mode.
Admission criteria
CSU Admission PolicyThe purpose of setting minimum tertiary admission is to ensure that students will have appropriate knowledge and skills to succeed at University. To be admitted into the Bachelor of Horticulture, students must demonstrate one or more of the following:
1. Successful completion of a minimum of one year of study in a relevant certificate 4 course or above as accredited against AQF, provided by TAFE or other accredited vocational education provider
2. A combination of professional experience (minimum 3 years), incomplete tertiary studies and vocational studies to the satisfaction of the Courses Director.
3. University UAI of 70 (or equivalent) or above for recent school leavers

CSU Credit PolicyStandard CSU Credit Regulations apply.
The following provisions for Credit from TAFE courses apply:
- Certificate 3: Up to 8 points
- Certificate 4: Up to 32 points
- Diploma: Up to 64 points
- Advanced Diploma: Up to 96 points
Graduation requirements
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 192 points.

Other codes may be allowed if appropriate rationale is provided and accepted by the Courses Director. Students should also consider FDS305 – Quality Assurance.
