The Graduate Diploma in Water Policy and Governance focuses on the development and management of policy and governance in relation to the water industry. The course aims to impart a sound knowledge and understanding of the water supply, climate change and risks to water resources as a basis for developing effective water reform, catchment-based management and policies. It also provides students with the opportunity to explore irrigation, ethics and environmental law. Graduates are capable of successfully governing water policy which results in a distinct contribution to knowledge within their industry and allow them to integrate with other natural resource professionals to improve water resources in Australia.

The Graduate Certificate in Water Policy and Governance focuses on the development and management of policy and governance in relation to the water industry. Graduate Pathways

The basic prerequisite is that a candidate must hold at least a 3 year degree (or equivalent) in any field, as such it is assumed the candidate understands the agricultural or natural resources within which they work, and they are primarily focused on developing their knowledge of water policy and governance further.

Non-Academic articulation into the course

The degree will also provide a pathway for experienced industry people (with at least 3 years of work experience) without an academic background. These candidates could enrol into the Graduate Diploma in Water Policy and Governance Articulation from Industry and VET trained candidates who are currently working in the field may also be offered into the Graduate Certificate. Applications will be assessed at the discretion of the School of Agricultural and Wine Sciences Courses Director.
