The Master of Human Service provides graduates with a qualification that meets the diverse needs of practitioners and others working within the broad field of human services, either in the public or the non-government, community or business sectors. The course promotes effective and efficient management of organisational plans for implementing social policies to enhance the quality of human services. Graduates have developed advanced practice knowledge in human services management and social policy; demonstrate critical, analytical and reflective management and policy analysis skills; and demonstrate a better understanding of contemporary issues and challenges, and future directions in human services.

Normal course duration
Master of Human Service (generic and with specialisation)
Full-time 1.5 years (3.0 sessions)
Part-time 3.0 years (6.0 sessions)
Normal course duration is the effective period of time taken to complete a course when studied Full-time (Full-time Equivalent: FTE). Students are advised to consult the Enrolment Pattern for the actual length of study. Not all courses are offered in Full-time mode.
Admission criteria
CSU Admission PolicyStudents must have either:

successfully completed a recognised undergraduate degree or equivalent in either social welfare, social work, human services or the social sciences;
or - successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Human Services
Credit
CSU Credit PolicyCredit of up to six subjects (48 points) may be awarded to a student who has completed equivalent study at Masters level at a recognised tertiary institution. All credit applications will be considered by the Course Coordinator.
Graduation requirements
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 96 points.

Students undertaking the coursework option must complete:
1. Five core subject (64 points) comprising either:

2. Four Restricted Electives (32 points).
Students undertaking the Dissertation option must complete:
