ASC390 Transition to the Veterinary Technology Profession (8)

Abstract

This subject involves preparation of students for their future employment as veterinary technologists by requiring students to integrate and consolidate knowledge and skills developed in preceding and concurrrent subjects. As such it is an opportunity to examine the role of the veterinary technologist including legislation, professional obligations, ethical dilemmas and introductory business acumen.  Ethical and welfare dilemmas are discussed during case based presentations.  Students will have the opportunity to research a contemporary issue of relevance to the veterinary paraprofession and will undertake a review of the literature. Presentation of this literature review to a group of peers and academics will provide students with the opportunity for critical review of their work.
