* describe the structure of DNA
* describe the major DNA related processes as DNA replication, RNA transcription and protein translation;
* Understand how DNA integrity is being maintained by repair processes and how mutations are formed;
* describe the structure of proteins and its relation to protein function;
* understand the primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary structure of proteins and how they influence protein function
* Understand and describe basic enzymological principles and how these principles are influenced by protein structure;
* Have a general understanding of the structure and life cycle of pro- and eukaryotic cells; |
