EEB312 Reflective Practice and Lifelong Learning (8)

Abstract

This subject is designed for students who have successfully completed the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110). The subject encourages a broader and deeper understanding of teaching and assessment practice through wider reading and critical assessments. It does this through seeking to develop or enhance the students' ability to critically reflect on their own practice within a framework of applicable lifelong learning perspectives.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • recognise the importance and usefulness of reflection on their practice in developing professional expertise;
  • recognise the need to use current professional literature in order to increase the efficacy of their own practice;
  • identify and use strategies for effective reflection on professional practice;
  • discuss a range of workplace learning theories and their usefulness in a variety of situations;
  • have a capacity to analyse classroom and workplace environments for their learning potential; and
  • reflect on adult and vocational teaching and training, using appropriate literature as a reference source.
