EEL441 Literacies for Learning (8)

Abstract

In this subject, students will learn about the socio-cultural nature of language and language use. We investigate the language and literacy demands across the curriculum areas during schooling. A social view of language provides a framework for considering the links between language and the social contexts in which it is used. We also emphasise students' own literacy skills in terms of academic essay writing and those text forms associated with emergent technologies.
