EEP306 Pedagogy in Diverse Classrooms (8)
Abstract
The aim of this subject is to understand the issues that impact on children from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds and to develop a range of teaching strategies to teach these children. This subject will examine the way cultural diversity, expectations and values can be transferred to the classroom environment. Students will be encouraged to think sociologically, culturally, reflectively and pedagogically and develop an understanding of the interconnections between theory, research, teaching and learning. The way in which schooling and teaching can contribute to a more equitable and just society, is also a component of this subject. |
