Abstract
This subject provides a context for managing student behaviour in inclusive settings. The content of this subject is anchored in research from the Applied Behaviour Analysis literature and is focused on the design of interventions for individuals with challenging behaviours. The subject focuses on individual student behavioural needs in relation to ecological, cognitive and behavioural theories.

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- develop an individual behaviour plan for students in inclusive settings;
- use information from various stakeholders to complete a functional analysis/ ABC form and analyse the antecedents and consequences of inappropriate behaviour;
- describe, prioritise and target inappropriate behaviour;
- choose an appropriate system for recording behaviour;
- write performance objectives for new target behaviours;
- describe potential positive and negative reinforcers to use to encourage a target behaviour;
- plan stimulus and response generalisation of target behaviour;
- devise methods to accommodate reduction of inappropriate behaviour; and,
- justify their position on the use of the continuum of behavioural strategies.
