INS204 Insurance Law and Regulations II (8)

Abstract

This subject introduces the student to the regulatory framework for insurance and provides them with the knowledge and skills to comply with relevant insurance regulation to carry out operational procedures in distributing and servicing insurance products.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to identify the relevant regulatory bodies and their requirements
- be able to comply with regulatory requirements, rules and circulars pertaining to insurance at an operational level
- be able to explain changes to and implications of regulations and rules and circulars
-be able to comply with relevant industry code

The subject will cover the following topics:
Knowledge of relevant regulatory bodies and regulations
Application of relevant regulations in the workplace
Procedural requirements relating to operational aspects of regulations
Complaint handling and dispute resolution, internal and external structures, bodies and procedures
Records of current authorisation, training and relevant authorities
Privacy principles
Code of Practice
Occupational Health and Safety principles and guidelines
