MBA551 International Placement and Study Tour (8)
Abstract
This subject offers the opportunity to engage in an international project via participation in an international study tour of 2 to 3 weeks duration. The study tour includes visits to businesses, governments and non-government agencies together with intensive workshops delivered in-country. The subject provides an opportunity for students to develop their problem solving skills in a cross cultural environment and students will be required to complete a project linking theory to practice on some aspect of the international business environment. Study tour locations for each calendar year will be listed on the CSU Global site. |

Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
- be able to analyse and evaluate different aspects of international projects in culturally diversified environments;
- be able to synthesise and evaluate the impact of cultural, legal, economic, political and technological forces affecting business in that environment;
- be able to independently undertake and examine the impact of their experience in the new international context; and
- be able to make strategic recommendations that are appropriate for the relevant international context.

Residential SchoolThis subject contains a compulsory 21 day residential school.
The residential school component is the required participation in the international study tour. The duration of the study tour/residential school varies from year to year but is usually between 14 and 21 days. Students will be required to meet expenses above that required for a standard subject.
