Learning OutcomesUpon successful completion of this subject, students should:
understand the changes - physical, mental and social that infants undergo from the last weeks of gestation until the age of eighteen months; understand the power of the media in portraying positive and negative messages about parenting behaviours; discuss aspects of antenatal care and childbirth practices that have a bearing on the subsequent health of children; advise parents on optimal ways of caring for their infant, basing that advice on your knowledge of infant growth and development. |
