OCC104 Person, Environment and Occupation Foundations (8)
Abstract
This subject introduces students to the occupational therapy profession and the profession's focus on the person, environment, and occupation concepts. Each of these concepts will be investigated in detail to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of each and the dynamic interactive relationship between them and the health and wellbeing of people. Students will conduct a personal 'person-environment-occupation' analysis to practically apply these concepts to themselves. Students will also conduct a 'person-environment-occupation' analysis of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person to demonstrate their understanding of the cultural, political, historical and social determinants of health and wellbeing. In addition, students will develop their academic literacy skills in preparation to become a confident and competent university student. |
