OCC330 Occupational Therapy Workplace Learning 1 (Honours) (12)

Abstract

In this subject honours students complete one supervised occupational therapy workplace learning experience. The workplace learning experience will last for seven weeks. During the seven-week period honours students are entiled to have three days off from placement. These three days must be negotiated with the supervisor and must include public holidays. Students are not eligible for a rostered-day-off (RDO) or time-in-lieu (TIL). Over the course of seven weeks students will complete approximately 240 hours on placement. The workplace learning experience provides students with the opportunity to manage their own caseload and to practice and consolidate their assessment, intervention, and evaluation skills. Students will also develop and consolidate critical evaluation and reflective practice skills. This placement focuses on working with individuals who experience occupational dysfunction and/or may focus on planning or implementing an occupation-focused project. Students are required to pass this placement and related assessment items to pass this subject.
