PHY215 Scientific Instrumentation (Electronics) (8)
Abstract
This subject deals with the analysis of circuits containing both linear and non-linear elements. It covers DC and AC circuits, solid state conduction, diodes, transistors and integrated circuits, amplifiers, op-amps, oscillators and introductory digital electronics. The emphasis is on the analysis and application of circuits, rather than circuit design. This subject has a compulsory residential school. |

Residential SchoolThis subject contains a compulsory 3 day residential school.
During the residential school students will undertake and develop the skills associated with the practical aspect of electric circuit measurement and analysis. The students will be provided with a number of tutorials on circuit analysis and will be shown the practical considerations required when choosing components and setting up electric circuits.
