REC167 Leadership and Communication (8)

Abstract

Leadership can come from any person in a group or team. This subject introduces the learner to the theory and application of communication, group work and leadership within the context of recreation and recreation management. You will be expected to utilise this theory to explore and analyse your own and others' leadership and group skills. You are encouraged to develop your own philosophy and approach to leadership through reflective processes and practices. It provides foundation knowledge which will be developed in further recreation and planning studies. The subject has no residential school for distance students. On completion student will have the ability to effectively lead a group in a range of supervisory or outdoor recreation contexts.
