REC306 Ecotourism Project (8)

Abstract

The application of the concepts of ecotourism and sustainable tourism development in real situations is often very challenging. For many students, the real questions arising from their studies are "What are the issues arising in the application of these concepts, and how can our knowledge of these issues assist in future application?" This subject will build on previous studies in ecotourism and provide conceptual and practical experience in applied ecotourism management. Each student will identify and undertake an applied research project relevant to their own interest and field of studies. Research projects will investigate and address day-to-day management issues and challenges in ecotourism management in collaboration with industry participants such as ecotourism service providers, planners or resource managers. Students will be given the opportunity to explore issues or topics of particular interest to them in a variety of Australian and international situations.
