- What is sound?
- Principles of sound
- Microphones and Recording techniques
- Editing sound
- Editing sound in relation to picture
- Manipulating sound to acheive various desired results to suit specific image genres
- Understanding the software and hardware used in sound production
- Mixing
- Changing sound with effects
- Appreciation of the quality of sound design

Specialised Resources

VPA106 Introduction to Sound Production teaches students the foundations of sound production. To satisfactorily complete the subject students require access to microphones and multitrack audio software that are commonly used in industry. Distance students will need to contact the subject coordinator for specific details of equipment requirements.
