Admission Criteria

Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours)

In order to be considered for honours at the end of year two, students must achieve a minimum grade point average of 5.0
Selection into the Honours stream depends on academic merit, the extent to which you have considered a potential project topic and the availability of appropriate supervisors.
If selected, you will complete specific Honours subjects in your third and fourth year that replace standard subjects.

Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine

A completed High School Certificate with an ATAR of 70 (including adjustment factors) or equivalent.
OR
Successful completion of two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
OR
A completed AQF Certificate IV or higher level qualification.
OR
50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification
OR
A completed Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
AND
English language requirements apply. An Academic IELTS of 6.5 with no score below a 6.5 in each of the individual skill areas or a qualification deemed equivalent.

Course Structure

The course comprises 256 points. At the end of second year, students can choose - dependent upon satisfying minimum requirements - to complete the Honours stream or remain in the Pass degree. Entry into Honours is dependent on the availability of appropriate supervisors and resources required to support the project.

Professional Accreditation

The course has been developed to meet the requirements of the Podiatry Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). Accreditation/recognition of the podiatry course is a legal/statutory requirement in Australia and graduates cannot practice Podiatry unless the course has been evaluated by the Australian and New Zealand Podiatry Accreditation Committee (ANZPAC).

The Podiatry course at CSU is currently recognised in Australia and graduates are eligible to apply for registration in other countries.
 

Current ANZPAC course accreditation is valid until 30 January 2018.
