This subject introduces students to contemporary performance practices in the late 20th and early 21st century from a theoretical and practical perspective. The subject uses a thematic approach to analyse performance concepts including: postmodern performance, the body as text, post-dramatic theatre and the space and place of performance. Students engage in critical discussion and reflection about the work of leading practitioners and apply their understanding of concepts by creating their own thematic mediated performance.
