This subject is a directed program of advanced reading, related to the students' perception of science and agriculture to their area of specialisation. Students will undertake critical review of the literature in their chosen field of study in liaison with subject teaching staff and their supervisory team. In addition to completing a literature review that will form, at least in part, the basis for their thesis project, students will also engage in active peer review and presenting and critiquing journal articles in seminar presentation format. This subject is designed to facilitate development of expert-level skills in literature critique, peer review, and written and verbal communication skills.

This subject is restricted to students enrolled in the Doctor of Sustainable Agriculture.
Students undertaking this subject should have a background in sustainable agriculture as demonstrated through meeting the admission requirements to the Doctor of Sustainable Agriculture, and a demonstrated capacity to work relatively independently to access and search a range of literature sources and search engines.
