This subject develops a students knowledge in the assessment and management of major trauma in the out of hospital setting. Students develop the knowledge and skills required to enable them to provide advanced critical care to trauma patients at the intensive care paramedic level. Trauma systems, mechanism of injury, trauma patient assessment, and specific traumatic injuries and their management are examined in detail.
