This subject builds on the students knowledge and experience as a paramedic as a number of clinical situations are contextualised to the extended care paramedic setting. During this subject the student will learn about analgesia and sedation, trauma, mental health, infections, wound care management, and palliative care. This subject will address these topics with a focus on primary health care patient assessment, treatment, case management and identification of transport, referral or field care options.
