The role of teams is becoming more important in todays organisations, where the success of these teams is closely aligned with the success of the organisation. This subject is designed to develop capabilities in identifying teams, working in teams, and ultimately leading successful teams. Areas covered include self-awareness, emotional intelligence, cross cultural skills, relationship building, problem-solving, decision making, effective listening, and conflict resolution. This subject will also explore how leaders manage teams and how teams shape the requirements for effective leadership. The subject will identify the distinction between team leadership and team facilitation skills. Finally, students will examine the theory and practice of leading productive teams and facilitating groups.
