COM127 Introduction to Media Production (8)

Students entering the communication industries need to produce media content for a range of platforms. This subject provides an introduction to basic audio, video, and web production techniques that students will use throughout their degree and careers. It emphasises storytelling skills as well as the giving and receiving of critical feedback upon practice. It provides a bridge into university life via discursive exploration of storytelling, truth and learning to embed media production in a broader context.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to capture, edit and publish stories using audio, video, images and web media;
  • be able to critique creative works made using audio, video and web processes; and
  • be able to listen to, evaluate and discuss ideas relating to storytelling as revealed in media content.
