The subject applies economic models and analysis to a range of contemporary economic issues. The focus is on how economists address major contemporary Australian policy issues. Topics such as labour market deregulation, macroeconomic policy issues, microeconomic reform, environmental policy issues, regional economic policy for growth, balance of payments and trade related policy are all critically assessed in terms of economic policy analysis.
