The subject introduces students to these techniques: cost benefit analysis, cost effectiveness and cost utility analysis and multicriteria analysis. It considers the ethical issues raised by the use of economic evaluation for decisions about resource allocation, and the kinds of decisions for which each technique is appropriate.
