EEB107 TEC Residential School (0)

Each session students enrolled in the BEd (Early Childhood and Primary) Teacher Education in Community Program (TEC) have the opportunity to attend the TEC Residential School  (2 x one-week blocks) in Dubbo to work as a group in the subjects they are studying that session. The Residential School is a offered as an additional mode of support for the TEC cohort, who are studying an internal course from their home communities.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • have had the opportunity to interact with their subject tutor and other students enrolled in the subjects they are studying;
  • have articulated and practised the literacy and numeracy requirements of the subjects they are studying;
  • have developed a sense of the identity and strength of the TEC cohort as a resource for each other; and,
  • have engaged in professional discussion, exchange and information seeking related to the early childhood and primary teaching.

Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics:
  • propositional knowledge and practical activity relevant to the subjects being studied concurrently with the residential school
  • the literacy and numeracy demands of these subjects.

Residential School

This subject contains a 20 day Compulsory Residential School.

The Residential School is undertaken as 4 x 5 day blocks across the full academic year.
