In this subject students will apply their knowledge of maintaining positive learning environments and the theoretical models that inform management and policy development. They will identify key issues and needs in early childhood and primary settings, consider how these can be addressed, and synthesise instructional approaches for the specific learning environment. Students will focus on using and engaging with positive teaching and learning approaches to improve and support their practice. They will build a personal philosophy of management and demonstrate their understanding of the theories that inform the creation of supportive learning environments through the development of a learning environment plan, completion of weekly content assessment and a policy critique.
