This subject provides pre-service teachers with the professional and pedagogical knowledge that will enable them to be graduate standard teachers of primary Human Society and Its Environment. In this subject, students engage with conceptualizations of the HSIE curriculum teaching area and examine how these are represented in mandated syllabuses. Students will develop an understanding of the teaching strategies appropriate to the design, implementation and assessment of high quality HSIE learning experiences. Students will create authentic learning experiences that address issues of community engagement, social justice, sustainability, and diversity.
