In this subject students will learn to identify, critique, and respond to a range of global and local issues relevant to the teaching and learning of English in the Australian context. Students will engage in activities that will develop their understanding of teaching as inquiry and their skills as reflexive practitioners. They will learn and apply strategies for inquiring into issues, problems, and questions of interest in contemporary English education. They will learn to construct a high quality academic report which addresses a relevant topic, issue, question or problem.

This subject assumes knowledge of core concepts and theory related to literacy and language education. It also assumes that students have successfully engaged in at least three professional experience opportunities.
