EML523 Investigating English Communication 2 (8)

This subject is designed as a partner to EML519 Investigating English Communication 1. It will build on the skills developed in EML519, and further develop skills and strategies for undertaking investigations into a range of topics related to Englishes and communication in a range of personal and professional contexts. Students will apply processes of inquiry to investigate a topic/issue of relevance to English communication, and their own professional or personal interests. They will utilise appropriate technologies and academic English to present and communicate their investigation to a wider audience.

  • explain implications of an investigation for communicating in English in a range of professional and personal contexts.

  • Investigating topics and issues in personal and professional communication in English.
  • Designing and implementing an investigation using inquiry approaches.
  • Analysing information and implications of an investigation.
  • Presenting and communicating investigation outcomes using appropriate technologies.
