This subject explores a range of approaches to teaching Information technology subjects in a senior secondary school (Years 11-12). It aims to assist pre-service teachers to construct lessons and units of study that are challenging, engaging, and supportive of student learning. Particular attention will be devoted to the implementation of relevant state syllabus documents, quality teaching strategies and assessment for learning. In NSW these documents refer to two syllabi, namely, Information Processes and Technology (IPT) and Software Design and Development (SDD).
