This subject explores the concepts and underlying principles of sustainable development in great depth. The subject synthesizes material presented in other subjects and considers how concepts and theories can be put into practice. Students investigate the issues raised in the application of sustainable principles to their profession by exploring real situations, experiences case studies, and experiences in the field. The subject thus provides a bridge from theoretical consideration of principles to their practical application in commercial/professional situations. The subject has no residential school. On completion students critically appraise the lessons learned from the experience of implementing sustainable development in their profession, the issues raised, and the proposed effective solutions.
