The on-going professional learning of educators is recognised as central to the quality of teaching in a wide range of educational settings. This subject examines current research, policy and practice related to the professional learning of educators. Particular attention will be paid to the links between professional knowledge, learning and practice; the ways in which professional learning can be developed and sustained in specific sites; the leadership of professional learning; and professional learning innovations. Students will have opportunities to relate key ideas in the subject to their professional practice.
