This subject will introduce students to important finance concepts within an investment banking context. The unit will combine key theoretical constructs with practical industry expertise and protocols used by global investment banks and financial advisory firms. It will therefore equip students with important knowledge and skills required to work in these sectors.
Several transaction types will be covered in the subject including cross-border merger and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, initial public offerings (IPOs), corporate bond issuances and leveraged buy-outs (LBOs). For each of these transaction types, key processes will be outlined along with important strategic and finance concepts associated with them.
