GER404 Ageing and Professional Practice (8)

This subject is about developing your professional practice and skills to work ethically in partnership with older people by examining several contemporary models of practice. This will also include an examination of how partnerships may include family care givers and other professionals. You will learn strategies to build respect for the individual as the expert in their own life and to better understand the personal story of the older adult. You will reflect on your own requirement for future professional development.
The partnership approach will be applied to review a critical incident and reflect how this approach can lead to better outcomes. A health promotion plan, relevant to your professional practice, will be developed using the partnership approach.
