This subject develops knowledge of human development and health through a lifespan perspective. Students will explore the characteristics and developmental milestones at different stages of life, gain knowledge of a range of associated health conditions, and examine the link between human development and health. This subject will enable students to extend their holistic view of health, wellbeing and development by considering psychosocial, cultural, physical, physiological and environmental issues. Students will apply their knowledge of the social determinants of health in order to understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and clinical presentations through a social determinants lens, and the implications for rehabilitation practice.
